It‘s been going on for a long time

This work reflects on the enduring contributions of Black communities to Western society across culture, sports, business, and the arts while confronting the persistent structures of exclusion and discrimination that continue to shape lived realities.

Despite decades of influence and participation, true equity remains unresolved. The continued necessity of movements such as Black Lives Matter underscores this imbalance, revealing the gap between contribution and recognition, presence and inclusion.

The piece engages with this tension, questioning how a society can so deeply absorb cultural impact while failing to dismantle systemic inequality. In doing so, it points to an unfinished process—one that demands not only acknowledgment, but structural change.
